Nonstop Signs

Website Redesign / SEO / WordPress Development

New design of Nonstop Signs homepage

My goal with this project was to redesign the site in a way to help users navigate the site effectively and increase the conversions, and sales for the business.

Timeline: 6 to 12 weeks

Type: Web design, WordPress development, SEO (technical, and on-page)

Company: Nonstop Signs (858graphics)

My role and who I worked with

I joined this project after talking to the client about some SEO fixes as the site was suffering from a huge traffic and conversions drop.

Then I moved to the website redesign part and I was tasked with the responsiblity for redesigning the complete site with implementing the new design, shipping several successful experiences, and establishing a strong framework for SEO to get the search presence of the site to new heights.

From start to end, I reported to the CEO directly and worked along with the product manager, technical team, and the content strategist.

The challenge

The problem with Nonstop signs website was related to the design as the website was not focused on the customers and conversions. And when the November 2018 Google algorithmic update hit the website, it became crucial to give a uplift to the site design immediately.

My goal was to redesign the complete website including the home, about, contact, and all the product, category, and shop pages.

I first had to rewrite the brand story, to tell it visually. I had to modernise the design, improve the user experience, and increase the conversions for the business. But all of this should be done without any downtime as it can negatively affect the sales, so I had to work with the team on a separate staging site and put everything together quickly on the front-end.

Looking at the old homepage, it’s clear that it was not designed with user flow in mind making it very difficult for customers to find what they’re looking for.

The solution

To redesign the site, I decided to start with the homepage of the site first, then about, contact, blog and catalog pages, and finally the product pages.

I selected Elementor as the backend page builder with the Generatepress WordPress theme to make the site as smooth and fast as possible for the users.

The new header with important information at the top and a big search bar to help users find the products they are looking for

Responsiveness

Responsive web design is now a necessary part of any website, and even Google recommends it as a best practice because it helps increase visibility on search engines, which in turn can mean more visitors to the site.
